Giving setback to promising career of 49 innocent NCC Cadets of Sainik School Nagrota.

The matter is of a serious nature and requires a high-level inquiry so that accountability and responsibility should be fixed at every level after an in-depth investigation into the matter.

#SamarkandExpressTeam: It may sound incredible but it is absolutely true that those who were manning the helm of affairs of NCC Group Headquarters, Jammu during the period 2020-21 have starkly put the career of 49 innocent NCC Cadets of Sainik School Nagrota at stake for their no fault at all whatsoever.
The fact of the matter is that under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Jammu, a camp for “B” Certificate examination was conducted in which 49 cadets of Sainik School Nagrota, Jammu appeared and none of them was awarded “B” Certificate due to the fact those 49 cadets have unanimously raised their voice against the step-motherly treatment meted out to them especially with regard to providing good quality food to them during the camp.
Only demand of those 49 innocent cadets was that instead of providing/serving sub-standard quality food they may be allowed to take food in their respective school mess of Sainik School Nagrota. Their demand irked the officers viz. the then Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Jammu Brig. Satish Kumar.
Training officer Lt. Col Mufti Masood Ahmed and Commanding Officer, 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC, Jammu Col Satvinder Singh the then Camp Commandant.
Out of grudge, these officers decided not to award the cadets a “B” Certificate, thereby jeopardizing their promising careers.
The aforesaid officers instead of showing wisdom and sagacity, jeopardize their promising careers by successfully blocking their way for entering into the coveted “B” Certificate which otherwise would have helped them to fulfill their aspiring dreams of joining the NDA (Armed Forces).
Perhaps it has happened for the first time in the history of NCC that the officers in fit of grudge have set a crude example.
The matter is of a serious nature and requires a high-level inquiry so that accountability and responsibility should be fixed at every level
after an in-depth investigation into the matter.
Further, there is also a need to have a robust cadets’ “Grievance Redressal Cell” in each and every such institution where after threadbare examination of such grievances, the matter gets resolved as per merit basis.
Such a mechanism is urgently required to streamline the things at ground level after plugging the loopholes in the system.
How is this possible that 100% of students failed when some of them might have even excelled in their academic studies? The instructors need to answer this If the performance was so bad, what actions were carried out by the concerned staff to improve the pass percentage??
A detailed investigation is needed to pinpoint the reasons for such a number of failures, said Col Jawed A Mir.
